KIDStherapyfinder.com is a community that promotes positive mental health and wellness for kids and teens. We do this by making it easy for parents to find exceptional online providers, information, resources, and products for their children. We invite mental health counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other pediatric developmental therapists (OT, PT, SLP and ABA) to promote their services, as well as parent coaches, and advocates. We have also put together an amazing team of experts to answer questions from parents around the world about their children’s mental health and wellness. Learn more about us here.
2. Who is KIDStherapyfinder.com for?
KIDStherapyfinder.com is for EVERYONE! Parents, caregivers, caseworkers, social workers, and other helping professionals can access KIDStherapyfinder.com for FREE.
3. What is a provider?
A provider is a professional who works with children and families to address developmental, emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs. Providers in our directory are specialists in pediatric mental health and wellness, and include:
Most providers in the KIDStherapyfinder.com directory are licensed in their state and hold a master’s degree or higher in their respective fields. However, some professionals, such as parent coaches, ABA therapists, or consultants, may or may not have advanced education or licensure.
We encourage parents to interview providers about their qualifications and verify credentials with the appropriate state licensing board if applicable. This ensures you feel confident in selecting the right provider for your child’s needs.
PARENT CONSULTATIONS
1. How do I book a consultation?
It's super easy to get your consultation appointment scheduled. You can schedule your session here.
2. What is the commitment?
The cost of this 30-minute virtual or phone session is $50. There's no obligation or pressure to schedule future appointments. If we decide to meet again, then you can schedule future sessions. Payment is due at the time of session booking. Fees are non-refundable.
3. Can I bring my child to sessions?
The type of consultations provided is designed to work with parents directly.
4. Can I use parent consultation time if my child or myself are in crisis?
Parent consultations are not for dealing with emergencies or a family crisis. Instead, it's about helping you find support before things get worse. For mental health emergencies, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.
5. How are consultations different than therapy?
Consultations provide support in finding services and solution-focused support on specific issues. It is focused on present problems and solutions for the future. Therapy addresses mental health concerns and may focus on exploring present emotions regarding past events, and typically addresses symptoms related to a mental health diagnosis. If it's determined that you or your child would benefit from therapy, we can offer you referrals to therapists in your area.
6. Can I use insurance for parent consultations?
Parent consultations are typically not covered by insurance. Check with your insurance provider for more information.
7. Can I use my HSA card to pay for Parent Consultations?
Potentially. Every plan is different, so you would need to ask your provider directly. If you have an HSA, check with your provider to confirm if your HSA account can cover coaching costs.
8. Is this completely confidential?
Yes, we would only give out information if you specifically authorize us to do so or if there was a safety concern.
9. Do you offer parent consultation services in specific locations?
We offer parent coaching and consultations nationwide across all 50 states.

10. How do I prepare for my virtual consultation session?
You will be given a link to join your virtual session when you sign up. When it's time for your appointment, bring your questions, find a quiet/private place - ideally not at work, and ensure stable internet connection. You can use your phone, tablet or computer. For safety reasons, sessions will be cancelled and are non-refundable if you are driving a car during the meeting.
